Author Bio

David Gordon was raised in Homer, Alaska for 23 years where he enjoyed the outdoors. Currently, he resides in Oakridge, Oregon in the Cascade Mountains completely surrounded by national forests with his wife Peggy.

He was a recipient of the prestigious Milken Family Educator Award for Oregon in 1998.

David’s passion is to make learning fun, so he is now creating read aloud stories to open up science, history, and life lessons through novels. It brought him great joy hearing his students yell to keep reading when introducing his Fleeing to Northumbria manuscript to his 5th grade classes.

He was honored when his former 5th grade students invited him to be their high school commencement speaker in the spring of 2022. He retired in June of 2022 after 32 years of teaching.
